Arizona Itinerary Part C: National Parks

Day 1: WOOHOO! Vacation has officially started! Eat a leisurely breakfast; then, drive from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon. 1 hour, 20 minutes.

Let’s start by saying that one of us has been waiting to see the Grand Canyon for 12 years. She is so psyched to finally go! The Grand Canyon entrance fee is $35 for one vehicle for 7 days. We’ll be visiting the South Rim.

What we’ll be on the lookout for: Admiring the canyon, Navajo Point, and visiting the gift shops (we love gift shops!).

Possibly Day 2: Next stop: Petrified Forest National Park. Minimum travel time3 hours, 26 minutes.

The entrance fee is $20 for one vehicle for 7 days. Things we’re looking forward to: Rainbow Forest, Painted Desert Inn (Museum), Newspaper Rock Petroglyphs, and petrified wood….

National park passes:

For those of you who are interested, the National Park Service does have different types of passes, called theAmerica the Beautiful passes.
